John Rubinstein

John Rubinstein served for three years as president and Artistic Chair of Interact. A member of the company since 1993, he acted in and co-directed Elmer Rice's Counsellor-at-Law (5 acting and co-directing awards), acted in and directed Into The Woods and A Little Night Music, directed The Rivals and Guys and Dolls, and acted in Urinetown...the Musical and Our Town. For benefit presentations, he directed She Loves Me, and acted in and directed The Music Man and the two Broadway Showstoppers revues.
For InterACTivity festivals, he directed, co-directed, and/or acted in 110 In The Shade; Precious Sons; Yes Is for a Very Young Man; Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, & Sex; the complete Mourning Becomes Electra trilogy, Speed-the-Plow; and scenes from Henry IV, part 2 and Long Day's Journey Into Night.
Broadway: originated title role in Pippin (1972), Children of a Lesser God (Tony, Drama Desk Awards), The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, Ragtime, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Hurlyburly, M. Butterfly, Fools, Love Letters, Pippin (2013 revival). Off-B'way, regional: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Counsellor-at-Law, Wicked (LA). 30 films; 2 TV series: "Family" (Emmy nomination), "Crazy Like A Fox;" 300 TV episodes. Stage and TV director; film composer; radio host, rock band keyboardist; university adjunct professor (NYU, UCLA, USC); father of Jessica, Michael, Peter, Jacob, and Max; married to Bonnie Burgess.
